The ring-shaped moulding simply pushes securely onto the perch rod. As well as providing a firm foothold, it lets birds face the feeder directly rather than side-on. This allows them to make the most of their peripheral vision and keep an eye out for predators.
We've found that some species are more enthusiastic than others about using standard perches when they feed. Greenfinches like our new Ring Pull Perch Rings, as do normally reluctant perchers like robins and chaffinches. Comparatively agile blue tits and great tits, though, seem less bothered and prefer to snatch food from the feeder.
The patent-applied design is constructed in tough polycarbonate, and it's easy to remove without damaging your feeder.
Only compatible with Ring Pull feeders.
