2012 has seen a very high demand for Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer due to very high pest pressure, as a result we are out of stock of our low temperature tolerant nematode species Steinernema kraussei. Effective immediately we are switching the nematode species in Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer to Heterorhabditis bacteriophora.  This species is just as effective in controlling Black Vine Weevil larvae and is very effective for use in late spring and summer as it gives control when soil temperatures are above 12°C.

Kill vine weevil larvae indoors or outdoors and protect against further larvae damage for up to four weeks with Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer - the simple solution to control vine weevil.

This pack contains a single application of nematodes to cover 12m2. For best results apply between early March and late October (or at any time if under cover).

Orders will usually be posted on Thursday to arrive in the Friday/Saturday post. Nematodes have a life of approximately 4 weeks from dispatch.
We post directly to you from the manufacturer to ensure you get the longest possible use by date.
You should store your nematodes in the fridge and use the whole packet in one go.

• Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer is the simple solution to control vine weevil.
• Apply to pots and open ground from early March to late October. This is when the vine weevil larvae are present and the soil is above 5 degrees C (40 degrees F). If applying under cover the pest\'s lifecycle is broken and Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer can be applied at any time, as long as the soil is above 5 degrees C (40 degrees F). Apply directly to the soil around the roots, which is where the larvae will be feeding.
• To keep a minor problem at bay, one autumn treatment should be adequate. However, for a serious infestation, treat in the spring and again in the autumn. When treating pots take care that the pots are not allowed to dry out.
• The nematodes (Steinernema kraussei), seek out the vine weevil larvae and attack the pest by entering natural body openings. Once inside, they release bacteria that stops the larvae from feeding, quickly killing it. They do not stop there. The nematodes reproduce inside the dead pest and release a new generation of hungry infective nematodes, which disperse and search for further prey. Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer will kill larvae present in the area and protect against further larvae damage for up to four weeks.
